He received his M.S. degree in 1976 and his Ph.D. degree in 1991 from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (MIET, Russia) specializing in electronics. From 1976 till 1998 he worked full-time as Lead Design Engineer and Lecturer for MIET lecturing in semiconductor device physics, IC design, and modern IC testing. He also was a part-time consultant for the 13th Research Institute of Ministry of Electronics Industry, (Hebei, P.R. China), Middlesex University Microelectronics Centre (London, UK), and Samsung Electronics Co. (Moscow, Russia).

From 1999 till 2003, Dr. Bratov worked for Multilink Technology Corporation (NJ, USA) as Senior Design Engineer and Design Group Leader. During this period, he was responsible for schematic and physical design of SERDES products with CML, LVDS, PECL, LVTTL and LVCMOS interfaces. He also developed special software for circuit optimization and Cadence-based software for layout design automation, both utilizing proprietary algorithms. Since 2003, Dr. Bratov acts as VP of Engineering for ADSANTEC where he leads the design of custom ICs for research, Government SBIR contracts, and commercial applications. Dr. Bratov is listed as a Principal Investigator on two Phase II SBIR contracts from DOE and Air Force and one Phase I program from NASA. Dr. Bratov holds more than ten U.S. and international patents.
